From Circa Espresso in Parramatta to Harry’s in Bondi, Sydney’s suburbs are brimming with speciality coffee. Now, thanks to Collective Roasting Solutions, you can try some of the newest and best all in one place at a pop-up brew bar in Enmore.
Each week the bar showcases a different coffee as espresso – one week it might be Artificer, the next, Skittle Lane – but it also offers all CRS members’ beans as filter coffee every day. The collective, run by Nawar Adra of Stitch Coffee and Circa’s Aykut Sayan, comprises some of the hottest roasters in the state, including Grace & Taylor, Edition, Neighbourhood and Insta-famous latte artist and roaster Jibbi Little.
The beans are also for sale, the idea behind the brew bar being that you can try before you buy. “The pop-up was created so that you could come and try our members’ coffee,” says Adra. “And if you like it you can purchase it.”
The concise menu, which offers black, white or filter coffee and pastries, will expand later to include baklava affogato, born from a collaboration with Hakiki Turkish Ice Cream down the road.
The next couple of months will also see in-store roasting and cupping sessions, and green beans will hit the shelves, ready for would-be home roasters. “Instead of relying on a roaster to tell you about it, you can experience the whole process: you can choose your own green beans and learn a new trade,” says Adra. “All the green beans will be from my warehouse; we’ll have seasonal blends and single origins from Columbia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Rwanda and Burundi.”
The brew bar is a welcome addition to Sydney’s coffee scene, providing access to a range of quality coffees and services under one roof, and for the next four months we suggest making a beeline for the smell of roasting coffee beans on Enmore Road.
