Prix Fixe, the nation's first ticketed dining venture, opens its doors in Melbourne today. Philippa Sibley, late of Albert St Food & Wine is on the pans, and the restaurant is co-owned by Jason Jones (Porgie & Mr Jones, Friends of Mine). "We're a dining room with a monthly changing menu inspired by moments, places, regions, great chefs, et cetera," says Jones, "all with a touch of whimsy and fun."
Tickets are available for purchase from their website up to a month in advance. Two courses at lunch can be had for $49, while $79 buys a four-course dinner.
This month's menu takes its inspiration from A Midsummer Night's Dream. "Secret potions" number among the Shakespearean offerings, along with a roast chicken with green goddess sauce, and they've even promised an appearance from Bottom himself.
