Brisbane’s best wine bars

Looking for spirited good times in Brisbane? Here's our list of the city's best wine bars.
1889 Enoteca

Magnum Mondays? Get your week off to a bottle-cracking start and try Anise (697 Brunswick St, New Farm, 07 3358 1558) for fixed-priced Monday fun, and house fizz, Krug (plus the rest of the list), by the glass, any time. At moodily lit Cabiria (6, The Barracks, 61 Petrie Tce, 07 3368 266), there’s European verve in the kitchen and a wine tome that ranges much further afield. Veteran Cru Bar (1/22 James St, Fortitude Valley, 07 3252 2400) pulls in a chic crowd for share plates and has a flirty wine list to match. 1889 Enoteca (pictured above) is more restaurant than wine bar, but its minimal-intervention Italian wines cater for buffs with verve. Need a view to go with that slender bottle of Radikon? Mr & Mrs G’s Riverbar (Eagle Street Pier, 1 Eagle St, Brisbane, 07 3221 7001) fits the bill more than admirably.
