REVIEW

It's right on the water, it's infectious fun, and it serves top-notch food and drinks. What's not to like? Attention to detail can waver (you might want to bring your own packet of Wet Ones, for instance), and it may be a little too casual for real comfort in some areas, but the boisterous crowds who regularly flock here don't seem to mind. Start with a dip into the well-edited drinks list and some briny oysters served with grapefruit mignonette. Then winnow your way through a menu that combines southern US influences (barbecue dishes are a major theme), south-east Asian flavours and local heroes. Swordfish ceviche paired with young coconut and chilli is summer on a plate, while jumbo king prawns are cooked just glassy, fragrant with lemongrass and coconut. The porchetta, charry from the spit-roast, is superbly gelatinous with a crunchy crackling. As a dessert, dulce de leche retains the holiday vibes right to the end.
