Rock the house with some restaurant expertise at your next shindig.
Catering your next party isn't copping out; it's clever delegation - not least when you get a top restaurant to do the heavy lifting. Sydney's Longrain has now weighed into the game, offering cocktails, canapés and sit-down menus, so you can enjoy their crab betel leaves in, as they say in the classics, the comfort of your very own home, Camp Bitch cocktail in hand. To put it simply, says Longrain honcho Sam Christie, "we bring a spicy, boozy flavour to any party or event". Other restaurants around Australia are also taking their magic into private parties. Melbourne entertainers can opt for a bespoke menu from the likes of Izakaya Den - their tuna tataki is particularly popular - and for something more casual, Rumi offers a take-home Middle Eastern feast on request. It's a similar deal at Xarcuteria in Perth, where you can leave your paella pan, or buy one from them, then pick it up filled and ready for a fiesta. In Brisbane, party planners should take note that the cocktails and duck pie by Aria Brisbane are favourites on the circuit, while E'cco has long catered all manner of festivities with everything from canapés to sit-down three-course functions.
